Submission Guidelines
Poetry
Students are allowed to send up to 5 poems. Please send all poems in one document with a brief bio attached.
Prose
Students are allowed to send up to 3,000 words for fiction and non-fiction works. Please send all prose in one document with a brief bio attached.
Widener Ink accepts poetry, fiction, nonfiction and drama. Please submit work as soon as possible, anything submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
Simultaneous Submissions
If a piece has been accepted elsewhere students are required to contact Widener Ink immediately to withdraw their piece.
Withdrawal
Submissions are to be WITHDRAWN if the submitter’s work has been accepted elsewhere. Students wishing to have their work withdrawn should request to do so by the beginning of February.
Contributors will be able to read their work at Widener Ink's launch party, hosted every year to celebrate the issues release. Contributors will receive two copies and may contact us via email if you wish to receive more.
Content Warning
Widener students are allowed to submit work engaging with all topics and themes of their choosing; however, alarming and/or disturbing material may be rejected at the editor’s discretion
If a piece makes the editors aware of a crime having been committed on Widener's campus, such as sexual assault, they must report it to the proper authorities.
Editors' Prize
This year Widener Ink is implementing an Editors' Prize for the Fall 2022 submission period. Students who submit their work to Widener Ink and are accepted are automatically considered for our Editors Prize.
Work is chosen by our 2022-2023 masthead
First place winner will receive a 50-dollar amazon gift card
Second place winner will receive a 25-dollar amazon gift card
Third place winner will receive a 10-dollar amazon gift card
